Cheryl Van Denburg was born in Providence, R.I. in 1945. Her interest in art surfaced at an early age and has remained her lifelong passion. While living in Chicage for 14 years, she studied art at the Art Institute, Triton Collage and Collage of Dupage. She has also studied at FLCC. Painting while traveling with her mentors both here and abroad, especially in France, is a favorite pastime. In 1982 she married her high school sweetheart, Peter Van Denburg and moved to Canandaigua NY. Cheryl buys and sells Antiques...primarily textiles and art and has had her own antiques business, Pieces of the Past, for 35 years. She is co-manager of the highly successful annual Ontario County Arts Council antique show. She loves the shores Canandaigua Lake where she lives and finds much of the inspiration for her painting.
Cheryl is equally at home with oil or watercolor and has worked in bronze and wood sculpture. Her works have been on display in numerous exhibits and one-women shows in suburban Chicago IL, in local businesses and at the Ontario County Arts Council. They are included in many private collections in Chicago, locally and abroad. She has traveled extensively in Europe and particularly France. She offers her work at the Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery In Canandaigua.
